It's that time of the year. Toxicity is in the air and trash talk is flowing. That means The Battle of Rogers Avenue is officially here, and after having its seven year win streak broken in a close 42-35 nail-biter, Northside looks to rebound this year with its more experienced core.
We recently had the opportunity to witness the reinvigorated Grizzly team in action during a close 21-16 two-quarter scrimmage against Broken Arrow. The Grizzly defense showcased their strength, securing an interception and a fumble. The team displayed remarkable intensity, with standout players such as Abram Dodson and Malachi Warren poised to be a problem for 7A offenses this season.
Not to be outdone, the offense also delivered an impressive performance, notably highlighted by senior wide receiver Cam Massey's spectacular 60-yard touchdown.
But only so much can be told from two quarters. This game has a lot riding on it for both teams and has the opportunity to be a great tone setter for their individual seasons.
Kickoff is scheduled for 8:00 PM, but we recommend coming down to Mayo Thompson early to witness the plethora of festivities that are scheduled! Our broadcast is scheduled to start at 6:15 PM with some of our own festivities as well such as our weekly Coaches Show, this week featuring Coach Curry, Cam Massey, and Taylor Webster.
