Northside looks to rebound against Greenwood

Writer: Jonathan SchaferJonathan Schafer

Reeling from a harsh loss against Southside, Northside faces a tough hurdle this week against the powerhouse Greenwood Bulldogs, who made quick work out of Northside's conference peer Bentonville West last week beating them 70-35.

Northside fans have hopefully wiped last year's 49-0 thrashing at the hands of the Bulldogs from memory. We hate to reopen wounds but here's a recap from that game. Northside was simply outmatched offensively, committing 7 turnovers while Greenwood star and this year's #5 ranked quarterback in the state Kane Archer threw for over 150 yards and two touchdowns. Greenwood's rushing assault contributed to the majority of their points, with Brayedan Davis hitting paydirt three times.

Archer, now in his junior year, will be helming the Greenwood offense mainly from the shotgun and in their game last week, they heavily favored the short pass game. Archer threw 281 yards in the contest off 24 completions as the Bulldogs stormed past the Wolverines. He favored senior Isaiah Harrington who pulled in 9 passes for 137 yards.

Northside's defense will certainly have to be on their toes as they face their high powered rivals from the south. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 PM Friday at Bulldog Stadium in Greenwood, with our live coverage should begin at about 6:30.
